CLASS DESCRIPTION
As written by the author Dr. Jay Wile: “In this course, you are going to get a broad overview of God’s creation. As you begin to learn its secrets, you will become more and more impressed with its majesty and complexity. The sheer grandeur of it all should leave you in awe of God’s mighty power.”

This is a hands-on introductory high school biology class using Apologia’s Exploring Biology 2nd Edition by Dr. Jay Wile. We will study the basic characteristics of life, taxonomy, biochemistry, the cell, cellular reproduction, genetics, the theory of evolution from a creationist viewpoint, and cover the basic Kingdoms and Phylum’s of life. Class time will primarily be spent on laboratory experiments with some discussions and other activities. There will be several dissections and many labs will use microscopes. Students will develop collaborative skills in a supportive Christian atmosphere.

Completion of this class will earn your student one credit in high school biology.
