ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

TUTORS
Parents are the main educators of their children. The role of our tutors is to aid in the student's learning experience by offering instruction in the tutor's area of expertise. All content taught will be within the framework of a Biblical worldview. Tutors will provide a syllabus for each class they are tutoring which will show what will be covered in the class along with homework assignments. Communication with parents regarding lesson plans and class material is to take place outside of class time. Tutors will provide quizzes or tests for the subjects where content needs to be mastered through memory rather than performance. Minimal class time will be spent taking tests. Some tests will be sent home for the parents to proctor. Tutors will provide a point and/or percentile evaluation mid-semester and at the end of each semester. The parents then assign a letter grade as they see fit or the class. If a tutor needs to cancel one class due to death of a family member, tutor hospitalization or jury duty, he/she will contact his/her students with necessary assignments for making up lessons. If a tutor is ill, he/she will provide a qualified substitute tutor. If a qualified substitute tutor is not provided, the tutor will communicate the assignments to each student.

PARENTS
Parents will serve as parent monitors two or three days during the school year. Parents are responsible for the supervision of coursework and final assignment of grades. The includes ensuring their student is completing and turning in the homework assignments the tutor requires unless discussed with the tutor and providing any additional assistance necessary for the completion of the coursework. The parents and students and responsible to work with the tutor regarding any missed work or tests. Parents are responsible to have the students arrive on time and be picked up promptly. Due to limited space, we are unable to accommodate casual conversations and "catching up" amongst parents and siblings of PATH enrolled students inside True Life Church.

STUDENTS
Students are to arrive promptly and be prepared for class. Students are to complete the coursework at home so as not to prevent the tutor from maintaining the planned course of study. Students are to be attentive in class and understand that participation is a privilege, not a right. Students are required to sign and maintain the code of conduct. Students are to comply with each tutor's classroom expectations with the understanding that there will be variances between classes.
